We've had some fantastic guests and episodes lately. Hopefully, you could listen to some episodes last week while pushing snow and salting surfaces. 

This week, our vice president, Vince Torchia, flipped the script and interviewed me on The Grow Show. We talked about the history of the GROW! Annual Conference, what's changed since the early days, what's stayed the same, and all we've learned in planning this event and meeting the landscape pros who attend it.

If there's one takeaway from this episode that I think can help you this week, it's this:

Be competitive with yourself. This event started humbly with 14 people who came to Dayton, Ohio to see me in 1995. Each year, we work hard to top what we did the year before and continue to get better. I think this attitude serves us well at The Grow Group, and I think it can serve you well in your role too. 

This spirit of one-up-manship can be a great thing when we harness it. I hope one of the ways you'll try to beat last year will be to join us at GROW! 2024 to learn new ways you can move your career forward this year, but if you can't join us this year I'd encourage you set this challenge for yourself this week: what can you improve upon so that this year to make 2024 better than 2023 was?
