This past Monday morning, we held the first of our two spring kick-offs at Grunder Landscaping to welcome back returning and new staff and to set our team up for success in the busy months ahead. (We’ll hold the second kick-off in April, when our H-2B team members arrive).

We provide a nice breakfast, we ensure everyone has their caffeine method of choice in hand, and then we update our team on recent changes and developments and discuss—clearly and succinctly—what we want to achieve in the season ahead.

Last year was our most successful year ever at GLC, with our highest revenue and least amount of turnover. I’m enormously proud of my team’s work to achieve that. But as our general manager, Seth, reminded us all at the kick-off, what made us the best in our market last year won’t necessarily make us the best this year. We have to continually push ourselves to get better, to drive quality up and costs down, and to live up to our mission of exceeding client expectations every step of the way. Can we do that? Yes, but only if we focus and work together as a team.
