The Three Focuses of Successful Landscaping Companies
Last month, I asked you a series of questions that challenged you to stay focused on your priorities, health, and family. I told you I was going to check in on you and here I am. So, how are you doing?
Answer these questions again and see for yourself:
- Am I spending time every week on my priorities? Or am I letting my inbox and cell phone control my time?
- Am I playing offense with my team and my clients? Or am I in reaction mode because I haven't planned accordingly?
- Am I reviewing numbers and metrics daily? Or am I just hoping we are making money on the work we are doing?
- Am I spending quality time with my family and friends? Or am I just there, but not really present?
- Am I eating right, staying active, and getting enough sleep? Or am I making excuses for being too busy to do any of that?
Here are my answers so you can see how I am doing:
- I am doing a nice job of spending time on my priorities each week and I am consistently cleaning out my inbox, but I am struggling with my phone. I need to work on not letting my phone distract me so much.
- I am staying consistent with my personal and professional planning by taking time each weekend to plan out my next month. This is the best thing I do, it helps me have a great week, and stay focused during the month.
- I am looking at numbers every day at Grunder Landscaping and feel confident that I know where we are.
- My wife and I have a trip planned soon, and we'll get to spend some time together in Florida and be unplugged for a while. My team has everything they need, so I shouldn't need to check in frequently. I used to struggle with the urge to check in, I've learned to have trust in my team. They do a great job, and they can manage without me for a week.
- I am sticking to my workout schedule, but my diet has been bad this Spring! My wife's chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies are my weakness. Something for me to work on.
As I mentioned, I am on this journey with you and we are all in this together. By all means, drop me a line and let me know how you are doing! You can reach us at grow@growgroupinc.com.
The Spring is busy for all of us, and it can be hard to feel like we're stretched in so many different directions. Remember that you aren't alone. Use today to work on solutions to any of the answers you weren't happy with, and have a great week!
Happy Easter!
